Pennellaleigh Gleainger
Went to a
country one-room school for grade school; for high school was home-schooled and
had some schooling while living in a children’s hospital because of having
polio; when able to attended school went to a small-town high school. After
high school attended Blodgett Hospital School of Nursing and took educational
classes at a small Bible College along with taking classes at a small Environmental/Agricultural College
preparing to being a missionary nurse in Central and South America. Later
taking Special Education Teachers training for multiple disabilities
endorsements and went on for Leadership in Special Education. Started out as a
nurse and then went back for more education to be a Special Education Teacher,
working through the years as a nurse and/or teacher in different capacities.
During preparing for teaching had experience for teaching in country schools,
small town schools, and inner-city school with all grade levels which led to a
good background for teaching all ages, young children, youth, and adults. Enjoyed
years in mission work and foster parenting along with raising own. Took breaks to take more training, much in environmental sciences and language
arts, to take back to the students and teachers at the mission schools. Retired
because of health and living back where grew up, continuing to work with
Faith-Hope-Charity Educational (out of New York) with training teachers (by use
of the internet) and doing some home schooling with students that for one
reason or another, needed home schooling. Married with family living on
homestead off grid on small family farm.
